Tokio Hotel Aliens Invade Twitter

Tokio Hotel fans took to twitter to celebrate the 6 year anniversary of the single Durch Den Monsun by tweeting the hashtag #6YearsTokioHotel. It trended worldwide for over an hour.

Many fans preferred to pretend that the other TTs mentioning aliens were about them, as Tokio Hotel fans have been called "aliens" ever since Bill Kaulitz first called the crowd that name in the intro for the song "Alien" from Tokio Hotel's album, Humanoid

Tokio Hotel fans honor quite a few anniversaries regarding the band: birthdays, single and album releases, awards won and sometimes even tattoos. Today is one of those anniversaries. Six years ago today, in Germany, Durch den Monsun was released as Tokio Hotel's first single.

To this day Durch den Monsun and the English version Monsoon, are still Tokio Hotel's greatest hits.

In honor of "Durch den Monsun Day" here are performances of the song from the band throughout the years.

Tokio Hotel Rocks Russia

I say finally because when Tokio Hotel were on their Welcome to the Humanoid City European tour in 2010 the only two Russian dates scheduled were both cancelled for reasons that were left unexplained. The band being in the country has been a long awaited moments for the fans.

On Thursday, Georg Listing and Gustav Schäfer we're the first to arrive in Moscow departing from Berlin. The other half of the band, the Kaulitz twins, were departing from Los Angeles were they currently live. Bill and Tom pulled a pretty stealthy move in their arrival in Moscow. They managed to evade the few hundred fans waiting at the airport and hotel by getting inside The Ritz relatively unnoticed.

Before the award show the band held a Meet and Greet for their fans and participated in the Muz-TV 2011 press conference. To the delight of people who are fans Bill's style he appeared with a slightly new look. He was very sleek and fashionable in silver, grey and camouflage. His usually tall pompadour has been slicked back, and he has a new piercing, a gold hoop on the right side of his bottom lip, which matched his other two facial piercings that were also gold.

I can honestly say the Muz-TV 2011 award show had the most entertaining red carpet I have ever seen. For one thing the carpet wasn't actually red but in fact green. There were live dancers performing in full circus-like costume and make-up dancing around the newest celebrity arrival as they walked down the carpet while being interviewed. Very busy and fun to watch.

Here is the band's arrival.

Tokio Hotel fans are used to waiting till the near end of award shows to see their beloved band and the Muz-TV Award show was no different. Except that this show was exceedingly longer than your average award show. Tokio Hotel didn't perform until about five hours after the show had started. The band was in top form as they played three of their singles, Darkside Of The Sun, World Behind My Wall and Automatic.

Here is their stage performance.

Happy Birthday Bill and Tom!

Today is the twins, Bill and Tom Kaulitz', 21st birthday.

Tokio Hotel's fans have taken to twitter to have an international fan action of wishing Bill and Tom a happy birthday. "#happybdkaulitztwins" was put in all the fans tweets making it a trending topic. It remained a world wide trending topic for over seven hours!

When asked about what they would do for their twenty-first birthday bash the twins said on more than one occasion that they would like to celebrate in America as it is a big deal to turn twenty-one in that country. They also said they were thinking about visiting party city, Las Vegas because they would be able to have fun enjoying all the perks of being twenty-one in Las Vegas.

The twins' last birthday was caught on camera for the band's TV show, Tokio Hotel TV. Tokio Hotel and the friends and family members of the band members had a blast by themselves at Heide Park in Soltau, Germany which Bill and Tom had rented for the entire day. You can watch the episode on the band's official site

Kaulitz Twins Race for Audi

Audi's official Youtube account, Audi tv, has added a behind the scenes video of a photo shoot where the famous identical twins of Tokio Hotel, Bill and Tom, stage a race in their custom-made Audi A1 cars.

The twins and their A1s are surrounded by classic American muscle cars, maybe Audi intends for the A1 to be a new classic?

The song played in the video is "Noise" off of Tokio Hotel's recent live concert album

Tokio Hotel America Interviews Martin of Cherrytree Records

Tokio Hotel America, the official American fanclub, had the chance to have a lengthy interview with the president of Cherrytree Records Martin Kierszenbaum.

In the interview Tokio Hotel is not the only topic discussed. Schnee, a head THA administrator, inquired to Martin's work ethics, his opinions on international music, marketing, and she even asked if there could be some new Cherrytree t-shirts.

It's a well rounded interview showing a view of Martin that Tokio Hotel fans don't usually see when he tweets. Interestingly it starts off with one brief question relating to Tokio Hotel and then the subject isn't touched again until the second half of the interview.

On the topic of Tokio Hotel Martin talked about his contribution to the song Dogs Unleashed, how he tries to get Tokio Hotel to come back to America, and a great deal more. I was glad to find a good portion of the interview is devoted to advice, from Martin, on how one can help promote Tokio Hotel in America.

It's a very refreshing Tokio Hotel (related) interview. Much more in depth and extensive than the usual interviews fans are used to.

You can read the entire interview at Tokio Hotel America's website

Tom Kaulitz Reeconects with Reebok

Tom Kaulitz sports a pair of Reebok BB4000 sneakers on the front page of Reebok's German website.

Not only is Tom modeling the shoes but is also giving the chance to one very lucky fan to win a contest where the prize is to hang out with Tom on tour.

Tokio Hotel's official twitter announced a new video would be uploaded to their youtube channel.
Here is the video along with an English translation.

Translation

Your chance, Reeconect

It’s a lot of fun, it’s something different. For once I do it alone.

For me it also always important that when I do something like this, that it’s authentic and my own thing.

Tourbus, soundcheck, backstage, 5 star hotel. Be there and check reebok.com.

Anyone can buy concert tickets.
We send you on tour with Tom Kaulitz.
You can find the codes from Aug. 5 in Reebok Classics.

Austria, Switzerland, and Germany are the only eligible countries for the contest.

I personally think this is a pretty cool contest with an awesome prize not only because a fan gets to hang out with Tom, and maybe the rest of the band by association, but that we learned from this video that there is going to be some type of tour in the near future!

Tom Kaulitz and Reebok

Tom is on his own for his Reebok Reeconect photoshoot

Pro7 Translation

At a photoshooting for a sports shoe brand, Tom gets into talking mood and explains what's the difference between his clothing style and the one of his twin brother Bill.
"The thing is, that I need freedom, that it needs to look good and most important is that I can move in my clothes and it also needs to be relaxed. For example, I'm not the type who wears extremely tight clothes, because they press and pinch and so on, it really looks not good. For example, my twin brother, he really looks weird/crazy."

Well, probably this criticism wasn't meant so serious and more a little teasing between brothers.

ZDF - Leute Heute

Big jumps can make Tom Kaulitz now. The star is a bright guy. He got an advertising contract. Now he needs to prove that he's fit as a fiddle. Very enterprising the young man.

RTL Translation

The boys keep their money together, the fans thought about Tokio Hotel until now. But now, the supossably young-millionaire Tom Kaulitz told us why his money gets less every week.

He's happy to finally be alone in the spotlight.
"It's much more uncomplicated than with the other 3 guys."
He uses the opportunity to backbite.
"My twin brother looks really weird/crazy."
Tom Kaulitz the number 1B at Tokio Hotel and the conservativeness in person.
"I can wear what I want."
Photoshooting for a sports shoe producer, he's exactly the right one for this job. Tom has got something, which is quite rare considering men: a shoe obsession.
"At home, I created a little room like a little storage room. The shoes are getting more and more. About 10 new pairs per week."
When he's at tour, he of course can't take them all with him. And also another thing is forbidden, the rule number 1.
"No girls in the tourbus. We're like 2 months on tour and I can never be without women."
When Tom can't handle the hard deprivations of a huge rockstar on tour, he can still start a 2nd career as a shoe model. He obviously got talent for it.

VOX Translation

Tom Kaulitz is now on a solo trip. We meet the guitarist of Tokio Hotel all alone at a photoshooting. That never happened.
"It's much more uncomplicated as with the other 3 guys."
Is he on a flight of fancy or what? No, Tom does this solo thing for the spots brand Reebok. On the stage, the 4 boys will still be rocking together, when the 20 years old didn't acquire a taste for it now.
